Patriotism and Kites

 Patriotism and Kites:-

Happy Independence Day to every one of my readers. Today, It's a national Holiday in India. This is the day we will meet all our busy friends after a long time. We spend quality time with each other with mockery, edgy jokes etc. This is also the day to fly a kite if you can. The sky is filled with colourful kites throughout the day. Kites paint the sky in their vibrant colours.

Most kids don't know how to fly a kite but have one friend who is more than an expert. He swings the kite in the air while others control the reel, When it's almost 1km reeled in from the ground other kids get to control the kite for a while they tug the ropes and pull the wires and flabergasting experience. The presence of that one friend is crucial on any such date when kites are traditionally flown on Independence Day, Makar Sankranti.

Of Afcourse the day doesn't start with kites. It starts with hearing the speech by the PM of India and then attending the flag-hosting ceremony in society. After the snacks are distributed the kites flying and the Hickory Dickory starts.  The first step is to go and buy a kite and steal a reel from the shop, To be honest stealing the reel is not necessary people who can afford it easily have a good chance to better enjoy reeling. Then from the area around us, We find the tallest society and climb to its roof. Most societies have their water tanks or even special rooms built on top of their roofs, to access them u have to climb a very steep stair that goes straight upwards and it's generally built so that opposite to u is the open side of the roof, So, if you fall from that tiny and steep stair you implode to the ground.

Remember that god never strikes good and climb the staircase in the name of god. After climbing we settle down. The person who knows how to fly the kites starts by throwing the kite in the air and keeps tugging the string very fast for a long time. Then we reel the string the reel starts rotating at very high speeds in the hand of the person. After reeling in almost a kilometre of string we let it fly and stay there. All the friends who haven't dared to climb up look from below the staircase on the roof. Not to brag but many girls come to visit and see how high the kites go and when they see u have the reel in the hand to the highest flying kite in the near distance they just go crazy about it.

After u get tired and tanned because of sitting in the direct sun for almost 2hrs you decide it's time to leave. To maintain your legacy tie the end of the string to the roof or any pipe, So the kite stays afloat until it gets cut or breaks apart.  The real petrifying part is coming down from the place u have climbed, You risk your life and close your eyes to hopefully come down safely.

When you reach home shit you're late and get a thrashing for spending so much time in shenanigans instead of studying.
